Masjid at-Tan‘im, also known as the mosque of Sayyida Aisha (RA), is one of the most prominent historical mosques in Makkah and is the closest miqat (station for assuming Ihram) for those performing Umrah.
Situated between Jabal Nu‘aym and Jabal Na‘im in the valley of Nu‘man, the mosque is historically significant as the location where Sayyida Aisha (RA) assumed Ihram for Umrah following the instruction of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during the Farewell Hajj. For this reason, it is also called the “Umrah Mosque,” being the first station for many pilgrims heading to Masjid al-Haram.
Masjid at-Tan‘im occupies a strategic location, approximately 7.5 km north of Masjid al-Haram along the Makkah–Madinah Road. The mosque covers a total area of 84,000 m², with the mosque building itself spanning 6,000 m². It features two soaring minarets and showcases magnificent Islamic architectural design through its grand windows and doors.

Al-Tan'eem Mosque is the preferred miqat for the residents of Makkah and visitors residing there to perform Umrah. If you are planning to perform Umrah, this is your opportunity to enter ihram from it, following the example of the believers (may Allah be pleased with them).
